Jen Mageau
Instructor, Art Direction
Jen’s career in advertising is unique in that it has spanned both agency and education sectors in equal measure. A graduate of Winthrop University (Mass Communication) and The Creative Circus (Art Direction), Jen’s agency stints include Ogilvy, BBDO, Arnold, and The Martin Agency. Her roster of brands run the gamut- cars to cruises, cosmetics to cell phones- for clients like Cingular Wireless, (AT&T), Volkswagen, Royal Caribbean, McDonalds, Geico, Burt’s Bees, Wal-Mart, and Ulta Beauty, among others. Her award-winning creative has been featured in The One Show, Communication Arts, the ADDY’s, Archive, and Print Magazine.
Shifting into the classroom, Jen has close to 15 years of teaching, curriculum and mentoring experience as an adjunct instructor at both The Creative Circus and The Academy of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. Over the last decade, she’s also served as the Art Direction Program Director at The Creative Circus. Whether she’s helping student teams win D&AD pencils or preaching the gospels of strategy and craft, teaching has been a rewarding passion and source of great joy.
An Atlanta native, she’s married to an outdoorsy, overgrown boy scout software engineer from Rhode Island. Bonafide “dog people,” Jen and Richard share their lives with Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix, Gus, and Springer Spaniel/Poodle mix, Teddy (and have the dog hair under the sofa to prove it). Jen’s other passions include travel, interior styling, and excessive iced coffee.
